Catching Water

Wow, it is the most amazing thing to witness first hand your child making connections to the world around them. They grow from these little things that just need milk and sleep, to a baby who is curious about the world around them. It was one of these moments last Thursday night when Randy and I both were giving Maddox a bath. We were having fun and we noticed that Maddox was running his fingers through the water. It wasn't a big deal but a closer look revealed that he was trying to catch the water with his hands. Again and again his hand slid through the water, trying to grasp the liquid water that just flowed through his fingertips. His expression was perplexing, his actions were demanding. He really was trying to figure this out. Naturally he is to young to understand that water is a liquid and not something you can catch with your hand but he was really trying to understand why. Although he will not understand the concept quite yet he's building that piece that will help him realize one day..."aha" and understand the concept of what water is. It was such a magical moment, I LOVE being a mom to Maddox.

Waiting for the world to change...

http://www.kiva.org/app.php I got this web site from my Uncle Davids Blog...it's a great way to help someone out who is really working hard to make a life for themselves around the world. You can do as little or as much as you want to loan and you won't even miss anything because you get re-paid from that individual. YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

BE THE FIRST TO READ IT!!

Hello everyone! I haven't written in a while and I am right now modifying our family blog but I need some more time to really sit down and write. I do want to let you know some quick updates on what's been going on.

First and foremost...Maddox took his first steps Monday April 16th! He's been gaining confidence and every day it seems he's walking more and more, today he was up to 6 steps on his own! We got him his first fish tank today, ever since we came back from California and Maddox saw his Aunt's and Uncle's fish tank that's all he can talk about! So we gave in, we got a fire red beta fish named Chariot. He's already liking his BIG tank and has been watching TV this evening with us.

Our California trip was wonderful and I want to thank all of my family for showing us such a good time! We love you all and can't wait to visit with you again soon! You are all in our hearts and thoughts everyday and every time I see you my heart breaks when we leave, it never is easy. All I can do is look forward to next time and do things in my life to make you proud. When you look at your life, the greatest happiness are family happiness. ~Joyce Brothers

Randy has a full time job with benefits!! WHOO HOO! It's been great for our situation but he has had all wonderful things to say when he gets home about the people he works with, what he does, and the climate of the job. That is the most important thing about finding a job, is finding a place that you look forward to going to, and can really grow with. I think he has found his place.

I GOT MY NEW BASKETBALL TODAY AND I'M ALREADY DUNKING ON MY MOM!

NC State Tramples on Undefeated Duke's Basketball Team!

GO WOLFPACK!!
What a game....Duke Women's Basketball team has been undefeated this whole season...and NC State was ranked 24th in the ACC. The game was neck in neck the whole time right down to the buzzer....I went with one of my girl friends Taylor to watch the game and my throat is killing me from yelling so much! :) Their coach Key Yow has been surviving breast cancer for a very long time and really is an inspiration for all people. It's a wonderful story that they won and Key had an opportunity to carry her team to beat Duke! Lets hope they can win the ACC Tournament tomorrow against North Carolina!
